Today is Record Store Day, but I am sad to say that there are no participating record stores near me. To cheer myself up, and celebrate the day the Harvey way, I was going to post a story record, including digitized audio samples. However, I did some fact checking, and discovered that the “30 second rule” does not actually exist! So I am afraid we will have to settle for the standard photographs and interpretive information exhibit rather than the multimedia extravaganza I had planned for today.
Since I did not have to record the sound anyway, I decided to do another of the Richie Rich story records put out by Parachute in 1983, which I only have a sealed copy of. There are at least five of these story records, of which two are in the Harvey Mercheum permanent collection, and Michael Riley contributed photos of a third. Remember, guest exhibit contributions are always welcome, use the Contact the Curator form to let me know what you have!
