It has been a slow year for me so far on the comic convention circuit, but it is starting to improve. It started with a day trip to Manhattan, with a stop at the new Metropolis Gallery. They have a huge cover art collection, including Harvey Hits #6 featuring the Phantom:
In researching an item in the permanent collection, I learned two things. First, the pin-back button is older than I realized, having been patented in 1896. Second, in 2011, Ted Hake and Christen Carter declared the date of the patent, July 21st, to be National Pin-back Button Day. It also happens to be my birthday, so I have two reasons to celebrate that day!
Today we have the latest in the series of Jigidi puzzles of exhibit featured images. The exhibit in this case is the Casper the Friendly Ghost game by Milton Bradley:

Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans! Back in December, I posted a matchbook advertising Harvey Comics. By February I had seen four others, and asked if anyone could contribute photos. Comics fan Scott Carmody has answered the call, with not just four, but five matchbooks! I have posted each as its own exhibit, and renamed mine the “First Love Illustrated variant” to differentiate them.
