I was going to continue my tribute to summer with another inflatable toy, but I am very pleased to announce that I received five guest exhibits contributed by new friend of the Mercheum Jim Rash. I have said before how a number of pieces of Harvey comics merchandise would appeal to a variety of collectors, and today’s exhibits are proof. Jim is a long-time collector of vinyl figures. He and photographer Jameson Scott published a book about them, Cartoon Figural Toys.
Sorry for not posting last weekend, but my father passed away. The man that supported me in this hobby, and read every Richie Rich comic book alongside me, is gone. It still does not seem possible.
This Wednesday, June 21st, is the summer solstice, the first day of summer. To celebrate, today I am featuring another inflatable toy. This one is a pool toy depicting Casper and some of his friends, enjoy!
What a happy coincidence! Last week, I posted the Richie Rich Inflatable Chair, and mentioned the Casper version I had exhibited previously. As it turns out, the Casper chair was the next exhibit to be made into a Jigidi puzzle!
