Sad Sack books guest exhibits posted
Today we continue our look at America’s favorite comics G.I. who is not Beetle Bailey, Sad Sack. We have two guest exhibits from Rick Beckham, books from 1944 and 1978 compiling his appearances in Yank Magazine, where he first appeared in 1942.
I would like to point out part of the text on the back cover of the 1944 hardcover: “His name and familiar, sagging likeness have decorated the sides of plans and tanks on every battlefront.” Long time readers of the Mercheum Blog might recall another guest exhibit, this one of a pin depicting Sad Sack bomber nose art.
