Casper #45 puzzle [new exhibit]
I spent part of yesterday setting up my photo studio and photographing some of the great new items I have added to the permanent collection. I also took a number of photos of my setup so that I can finally write the series of posts about it that I have meant to write since I started this website!
I am very excited to add a new manufacturer to the list of those represented on the Harvey Mercheum website. Today we welcome the Tuco Workshops! Tuco puzzles were very popular, and are still very collectible, see the links on the new manufacturer page. Despite what the links say, this puzzle has interlocking pieces, but is made from the very thick wallboard Tuco was famous for. The artwork is straight from the cover of Casper the Friendly Ghost #45, with the Tuco logo replacing the Harvey logo in the upper-left corner, the ten cent price removed, and the word “PUZZLE” added after Casper’s logo in a different font. Oddly, the Comics Code Authority seal is missing the logo as well. Maybe they did not have permission to use it, or did not want to imply that the CCA had approved the puzzle? In any case, enjoy!
