I have been experimenting with ChatGPT because, well, all the cool kids are doing it. After unsuccessful attempts at getting it to write my biography, and then to write my next magazine article (which should be published in the fall), I decided to try something simpler.

I had read about the AI being good at rhymes and poems, so I asked it to write a catchy jingle for a museum. The results were promising, so I asked it to tailor it to a museum featuring Harvey Comics merchandise. Here is the result:

“Step right up, don’t be shy,

Come and see the world of Harvey, oh my!

A collection of comics, toys, and more,

At our museum, there’s so much in store!

See the adventures of Casper the ghost,

And the antics of Richie Rich, who has the most!

Explore the world of Wendy the Witch,

And Little Dot’s polka dot itch!

With displays that come to life,

And the thrill of comic book strife,

Our museum is a place of joy,

For every woman, man, girl, and boy!

So come on down and take a look,

At the wonders in our Harvey Comic book!

Our museum is full of fun,

So let’s get started, let’s go and run!”

ChatGPT then went on to say: “I hope this jingle captures the fun and excitement of exploring the world of Harvey Comics and inspires people to visit the museum and see the amazing collection of comics, toys, and other merchandise on display.” Well ChatGPT, you are no Sid Jacobson, but I think you did pretty well! I must state that there is no running in the Harvey Mercheum, and I am concerned about “comic book strife”!

My next experiment was to ask it to come up with a name for a virtual museum that features Harvey Comics merchandise. One of the suggestions was “The Harveyverse”, which I liked enough to use in the title of this post. Another was “The Harvey Comic Coliseum – This name evokes the idea of a grand and impressive structure, like a stadium or a coliseum, which houses the vast collection of Harvey Comics merchandise.” From now on, I am going to call the game room where the permanent collection lives “The Harvey Comics Coliseum”!
